Friday Flex: Make Promises

A short Flex today cause I’m getting married tomorrow! We’re having a big ol 3 day partay with much planning involved so for sake of my sanity I’ll keep this brief. Here’s something I’ve thought a lot about over the last few months that applies to fitness, relationships, and life in a broad sense.

Make promises, and keep them.

Make promises to yourself, and to the people you love. Make them on your terms, for reasons that are important to you, and let people know about them.

Keep those promises. Keep them the ones your make to yourself, and the ones your make to others.

They don’t have to be big, or bold, or daring. They can be as simple as “I’m going to meet you at place X at time Y.” Keeping even those little promises is an act of love for yourself and for others.

The promises we make ourselves and to the people we love will always be more important, more rewarding, and more true than any of the external accolades or validations could be.

Make promises to yourself, and keep those promises. Find people worthy of your promises, and commit to those people, and keep those commitments. Your promises cry out, “”You are worthy of my love, and that love is steady, and constant, and here to stay.” Others need to hear that, and you need to hear it from yourself.

That’s it. That’s all I got.

Much Love,

N
